~ 1 kg lean beef, cut into pieces then wash thoroughly

~ 20 shallots

~ 10 cloves of Garlic

~ 1 ounce of ground red chili

~ 1 tsp pepper


Other Seasonings:

~ Galangal, smashed

~ 3 lemongrass stalks, smashed

~ 3 deaf flowers

~ 5 lime leaves

~ 3 bay leaves

~ 2 pieces of turmeric leaves, torn


Rendang Complementary Seasoning:

~ 1 tablespoon ground serundeng (grated coconut roasted until brown, then finely ground until the oil comes out)

~ 1 tbsp boiled beef liver, finely ground

~ 1 tbsp sour water

~ Salt, to taste

~ Sugar, to taste

• Bring the water to a boil, then add the meat and ground spices, then braised. Wait until the water is dry.

• Pour the thick coconut milk, and add all the spices except the complementary seasoning. Stir until smooth.

• Stir the coconut milk until it boils and don't let the coconut milk break.

• Reduce the heat, cook until the beef rendang and spices release oil.

• Enter the complementary spices for rendang Padang meat, mix well.

• Continue to cook, stirring occasionally so it doesn't stick. Cook until the rendang seasoning is slightly dry and brown.

• If it is ripe, remove it.
